1 cup quick cooking oats not instant, plus more for sprinkling
2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 ¼ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 pint Guinness
1 cup buttermilk
5 tablespoons unsalted butter melted, plus more for the pan
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
